#1 The First Lemon
Dramatic title? Check! Terrible drawing? Check! All right, I think I'm ready. So this is my first pixel art ever. It took me so much time to decide what am I going to create (or at lest try). Finally, I decided oooooon drums... whatever! I don't think there is something you should start on. Just pick a random thing from your sounding and go with it. It will be awful anyway (if not, then what are you doing here, huh?). My thought process was simple (after 500 other processes that didn't lead to anything). If I am Citrus, then I need lemon as my logo! I know, insanely creative, I bet you are amazed. I'm using Piskel and 16x16 canvas if you care, but I don't think is matters what program you are using, Piskel is free and easy to pick up, that's all. Furthermore, I was taking screenshots after every major change (and after every mistake, if you are frustrated that whatever you are creating isn't looking good don't worry and try adding some elements. Just don't give up, please. Remember: If I can, YOU can!)
That is the base... it already looks ugly for me.
Filled it with color and added the base of leaf I wanted to add.
Added this little light reflection, don't ask me why. Also, the leaf is here, but it looks more like a green sword behind a yellow rock. I saved it to show you that mistakes and tries are normal, do not be afraid to change things if something looked better in your imagination.
Now it's better. Still not quite it, but I can almost tell that's lemon (or yellow submarine).
Lesson 1 for me: bright colors look better if sounded in black, try it yourself.
This whole inside seemed so empty. Added this little "anty-light L" on the left part and darker spots, like dots on lemons.
Added some shade to the leaf. Looks nice, maybe it's the secret? Good representation of light?
The End. Huh, that was something. I never thought it would take this much time. It looks terrible, I absolutely hate it. But it's my first step, it don't have to be pretty... or even bearable.
